S.O.T. Field - Shiocton
The Sons of Thunder consider Shiocton to be our main field of play. It is rougly 30 acres of land, and is well suited to large games. The field itself is entirely woodsball, and is a good mix of terrains: from wooded areas to tall grass. The field also contains a large collections of strategically placed, small forts made of fallen trees and brush(to keep the natural look of the field) to trenches, small waterways, and ponds that can make every game more interesting. The field also has three man-made bases for paintball, which are set in a fashion similar to SPPL format. The field is very well cared for and much thought was put into its creation. Also, due to how the foliage and plant growth changes throughout the year, Shiocton is an ever changing field and a completely different experience at the end of the season when compared to the beginning. Also due to the maintenance that is done to the field, it is always improving, with the addition of trenches and birms and so on.
We have a separate area setup for staging, chronograph, and food area. The Safe Area is located on the entrance side of a large pond (which separates the Play and Safe Areas), and parking is on the gravel road along side the property. We pride ourselves on safety and the fact that no one has ever had a serious injury or accident. We expect this trend of safety to continue for years to come. We welcome you to join us on the field during one of our open games, but also ask that you refrain from ever entering the property outside of the predetermined game dates and times. The property owner will treat individuals there outside of our games as trespassers, and trespassers will be prosecuted. We hope to see all of you at one of our games and look forward to trading paint with you.
