Rules

Our regular games are hosted by the Sons of Thunder Paintball Outreach, and "A" Team members. They are 100% Free to EVERYONE as long as they bring everything they need to paintball for the day......

What You Need

  • You must have a S.O.T. liability waver signed at each event you attend. (If under 18 years of age you must also have a parent or guardian sign it as well.)
  • You obviously need a paintball gun capable of shooting less than 300 F.P.S.
  • You need a regulation barrel sock for your paintball gun barrel. Not a barrel plug or any other barrel blocking device.
  • You need a regulation paintball mask.
  • You can only use regulation paintballs EXCEPT for NELSON BRAND paint. Check yours before you come.
  • You need a valid driver’s license or id for any rentals.
  • Bring cash for anything you might want to buy throughout the day.
  • You need to have a good attitude so we can all have fun.

If you don’t have some or any of what is listed don’t worry we also have rentals available.

We also do a cookout for lunch at our hosted games with food and drinks for sale. (Water is always provided free).

Our Games

Our games usually consist of around 50 people ranging in ages from 12 to 65 and all levels of experience from people who never played before to people that have competed at a pro level. We always make sure the teams are even and fair so everyone has a good time. We split everyone into two teams with equal experience on each side and play games that usually last about 30 to 45 minutes each. We play the entire day or until everyone is ready to go.

We usually play a variety of gametypes from standard elimination, to capture the flag and president. We try to keep things interesting and make a day of play pretty varied.

How to Get There and When

We always meet at Scheel’s by the Fox River mall at 9:00 and leave at 9:30, not a minute later, so it’s best to be a bit early; our games begin at 10:00. If you know what field we are playing at you can go out there at 9:30, however if you are there early we might have to put you to work and have you help set up. We have two fields, both are primarily woodsball. Our regular field is about 20 min from where we meet at Scheel’s and our alternate field is about 15 minutes from there. See Our Fields for more details. If you need a ride you can probably get one from Scheel’s to our field, but you will also be responsible for finding one home.

You can find out about our games in several different ways. The easiest is to check the schedule on our website. You can also get your email added to our contact list by emailing us at sotpaintball@hotmail.com or sot@sotpaintball.com. Make the subject line "Email List Add", and include your name and city of residence in the body of the email. The Contact list is notified of our events a week beforehand. You can also join our group on facebook Sons of Thunder - facebook. Our yearly schedule is set in advance, to help people plan accordingly. If there are any cancellations due to weather or other situations, a message will be posted on the website, and a notification will be emailed.

We also have a gear sale table, so if you have any gear you want to sell, feel free to bring it and place it on the table for sale. There is always a SOT member watching the table so there are no worries about gear walking off.
